The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe continues to solidify relations with Harare and has drilled solar powered boreholes to alleviate water challenges faced by thousands of households in Glen Norah, Harare.

Some residents who spoke to Zimpapers Radio News at the commissioning of the boreholes yesterday commended the development saying it will go a long way in lessening water challenges in the suburb.

Meanwhile Acting Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Head of Mission Cheng Yan said the gesture reaffirms his country's commitment to promoting cooperation and development between Beijing and Harare.

Harare has been facing water challenges for many years and the gesture by the Chinese embassy complements government efforts of drilling boreholes through the Presidential Support Programme.
