The Bulawayo City Council has received three fire tenders and fire equipment from a United Kingdom fire service humanitarian charity Operation Florian in a gesture set to improve the city's emergency response systems.

Speaking at the handover ceremony of the equipment from Operation Florian recently, Bulawayo Mayor Solomon Mguni said the donation will improve efficiency within the fire department .

A team from Operation Florian, which has been in other cities in Zimbabwe has been in the city for the past two weeks training fire fighters.
