Government has commended various partners for complementing its efforts towards supporting Gender Based Violence (GBV) survivors.
Speaking during a joint event between government and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to mark 16 days of activism against GBV in Harare, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Sithembiso Nyoni said authorities have taken a deliberate stance to economically empower women who have survived GBV.
Minister Nyoni said this in a speech read on her behalf by the Ministry’s director of Strategic Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Vaida Mashangwa.
Zimbabwe is currently marking 16 days of activism against gender-based violence under the theme: unite, activism to end violence against women and girls.
