At least 100 000 urban farmers in Bulawayo are set to benefit from the climate-proofed presidential inputs scheme.

This was revealed by, Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube during the official launch of the Presidential Rural Poultry Scheme.

The Minister also said 32 000 chicks will be distributed to peri-urban farmers in the province under the program aimed at improving the livelihoods of beneficiaries.

This comes as government has made food security a priority and is working towards an 8,2 billion US dollar- agricultural industry, underpinned by the country’s National Development Strategy 1.
