Dozens of Kadoma families, in Mashonaland West Province were left stranded following yesterday's violent storm which destroyed houses and uprooted power lines.

Over 50 houses in the towns' Pixcombe suburb and a girls’ hostel at Jameson High school were yesterday destroyed by heavy rains that swept through the mining town.

Meanwhile the Civil Protection Unit (CPU) team led by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Josphat Jaji has visited some of the affected areas to assess the needs of the families.
