Vendors in Bulawayo have rejected trading stalls being created at the Egodini Mall by a private developer, saying the facilities are substandard.
Speaking after a tour of the infrastructure by Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube, representatives of the vendors Dumisani Ncube and Tyson Dube said the stalls are smaller than what had been approved.
Meanwhile Minister Ncube said it is clear the contractor has failed to meet the target for the mall to open for vendors and commuter omnibuses by the first of next month.
Egodini Mall project is set to be the biggest public transport terminus boasting a retail section and parking bays in Bulawayo.
