Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube says government will not be pushed by speculative tendencies, on the parallel money market, to shift the official foreign currency exchange rate.

Responding to questions from legislators in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Professor Ncube said, government will continue making money market decisions, that protect the economy.

This comes as the gap between the foreign currency official rate, and that on the black market has widened over the past month, resulting in price distortions.
