Star FM is the leading urban radio station, according to the latest Zimbabwe All Media Survey (ZAMPS) figures.

The recently released ZAMPS shows that the listenership level for the broadcast entity has revolted.

The head of programming for Star FM, Steve Vickers said the station developed and implemented new strategies in a bid to reach and appeal to a wider audience.

“In January 2021 we began a new focus on the 18-35 urban audience. We are delighted that we are now the leader in the market segment,” he said.

He also said that it has been an exciting year with the station celebrating 10 years in the game under the #XtremeRadio drive. Activities held in line with the hashtag include regional exchange programs, nationwide outside broadcasts and roadshows.

ZAMPS is an independent board mandated to monitor and undertake market research on behalf of advertisers, the media, publishers, advertising agencies, and public relations consultants in the country.

The now leading urban station was once in the third position according to the ZAMPS second half survey 2021.
