A funeral parade for the late National Hero Brigadier-General Charles Kaneta will be held today at Charles Gumbo barracks in Harare as part of funeral proceedings ahead of burial this Saturday. 

In a statement, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe said the body will be flown this Thursday to his rural home in Hawuna, Mutasa, Manicaland province before being taken to Dourne farm in Marondera en-route to Harare.

Minister Kazembe added that Brig Gen Kaneta's body will lie in state at Charles Gumbo barracks on Friday. The late who was Director General logistics at the Zimbabwe Defence Forces headquarters died last Saturday after collapsing at his farm in Nyanga.
