The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has commended Zimbabwe and Malawi’s humanitarian aid to Mozambique following the unrest that rocked the country's Cabo Delgado province.
Addressing a media conference after a SADC Organ Troika on Tuesday, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava said the purpose of the meeting was for the members to get appraised on the political situation in Mozambique.
The Heads of State and Government underlined the importance of socio-economic recovery and the development of Cabo Delgado province inorder to enhance stability.
The summit directed the SADC Mission in Mozambique to continue working closely with the Mozambican Government on the comprehensive integrated reconstruction and development plan of Cabo Delgado.
Zimbabwean donated 1000 metric tonnes of grain in March while Malawi delivered 30 tonnes of beans in April.
