The Grain Marketing Board says it has put in place adequate mechanisms to ensure smooth transportation of grain from farmers to its depots countrywide.
In an interview with Star FM News, as some farmers prepare to harvest early planted maize crop and small grains, GMB Corporate Communications Manager Nickson Kanyemba said the company has also engaged private transporters to ferry the grain.
Farmers countrywide are expecting to start harvesting the early planted crop in the first weeks of next month to beef up national food security levels.
