At least 100 children undergo free hernia surgery

About 100 children will from today (Monday) up to Friday this week benefit from free hernia corrective surgeries being conducted at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.

In an interview, Celebration Health Director, Freeblessing Murawa who is part of a team-leading the exercise said at least 1 in 10 children in Zimbabwe are born with hernia.

Hernia is when an organ or fatty tissue pushes through a weak spot in the abdomen and creates a soft lump or bulge under the skin.
