President Mnangagwa has declared war against drug abuse and violent crimes while calling upon the courts and law enforcement agencies to work together to stop the menace.
Addressing mourners at the burial of Father Emmanuel Ribeiro at the National Heroes Acre today, President Mnangagwa said a rise in gun-related crimes and substance abuse is a cause for concern for his administration particularly the youths.
Recently, the courts resolved to impose heavy penalties on all cases of abuse of dangerous drugs to deter people, especially youths, from using, possessing or cultivating such drugs.
At the moment, many young people are abusing various drugs, particularly crystal meth commonly known as mutoriro in street lingo.
