Government has approved vaccination of children aged 12 and above against Covid-19 who are at high risk of infection.

This was revealed by Minister of State in the President's Office in charge of implementation and monitoring dr. Jorum Gumbo, who was representing Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa at a Post Cabinet media briefing in Harare on Tuesday.

Dr Gumbo said this was done in view of the science-based guidance from the Pediatric Association of Zimbabwe special Covid-19 vaccine group.

The decision comes after Government allowed the vaccination of teenagers over the age of 16 last year (2021).
