Cross border traders and economists have welcomed the re-opening of the country's ports of entry saying the development will positively impact on the economy.
Bulawayo Vendors and Traders Association executive director Michael Ndiweni, Consumer Council of Zimbabwe regional chairperson for Masvingo Prosper Muzembi, Zimbabwe Cross Border Traders Association president Killer Zivhu, local economist Professor Gift Mugano said the initiative was long overdue.
Meanwhile, border authorities say they are adequately prepared to receive an increase in vehicular and human traffic at the ports of entry.
On Tuesday, Government re-opened all land borders to fully vaccinated travelers following a decline in new Covid-19 infections.
