The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) will from tomorrow( Saturday) embark on an operation targeting motorists with unregistered vehicles, in a bid to curb an increase in crime rate.
In a statement, Deputy National Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Blessmore Chishaka said Police are concerned over the deliberate disregard of road traffic regulations by drivers of vehicles without number plates.
He added that there is no special exemption for anyone, including Government vehicles to move around without any registration number plates.
Chief Superintendent Chishaka said criminals are using unregistered vehicles to commit crimes including robberies, murder, kidnapping, rape, among others.
