Government has committed to paying Covid-19 risk allowance to members of the public service and pensioners in $USD hard currency with effect from the 1st of January,2022.
This was revealed in a Public Service Commission letter to the General Manager Payroll Management Salary service Bureau, Mr Samuel Chitambara dated 4 January, 2022.
According to the letter, treasury will pay the Covid-19 risk allowance in hard currency of USD $75 to civil servants and and USD $30 to pensioners.
The letter added that the payments will ride on the banking arrangements used for the processing of the 2021 civil servant bonus payouts.
