Stakeholders have hailed the top ranking of Zimbabwe in the digital economy, saying digitalisation accelerates economic growth and the inclusion of marginalised communities in developmental programmes.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Information Communication Technologies Chairperson Engineer Jacob Mutisi has urged Parliament to speed up the enactment of the Cyber Security and Data Protection Bill.
According to a World Bank commissioned digital economy for Africa diagnostic report, Zimbabwe was ranked high in the digital economy for its widespread use of mobile money, online banking and international platforms.
