Zimbabwe receives first batch of Sputnik-V vaccines.

Zimbabwe has received its first consignment of 25 000 doses of Sputnik-V Covid 19 vaccine from Russia. 


Receiving the vaccines donated by Diamond mining giant Alrosa, at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, on Wednesday, Health and Child Care deputy minister John Mangwiro said, another batch of 25 000 doses of the vaccine is expected soon.


Alrosa Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Head of African Operations Mr Vladimir Marchenko said, the donation is a result of friendly ties between Russia and Zimbabwe, and cooperation in fighting the pandemic.
