Government says the Health and Education ministries are collaborating to ensure adequate measures are put in place to enable a safe environment ahead of public examinations and avert a spike in Covid-19 infections.
Speaking after Tuesdays' Cabinet meeting, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the two ministries are also working together on the vaccination of schoolchildren aged 16 and above, which has helped see an improvement in the uptake of Covid-19 vaccines.
She added that for the first time this year, the Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (Zimsec) will also include the continuous assessment marks into the final results as a way of safeguarding expanded access to learning.
The Government last year and early this year managed to hold public examinations in a safer environment without risking a spike in Covid-19 infections in schools despite the rising numbers in communities as the second wave engulfed the country.
