Zanu-PF primary elections which were set to be held tomorrow have been deferred to a later date, following an overwhelming number of candidates who submitted their CVs for the polls.

Addressing a media conference at the party headquarters in harare today, national political commissar Dr Mike Bimha said the security vetting exercise will end today, with the national elections directorate expected to finalise the selected candidates over the weekend.

Dr Bimha added that the Politburo will then sit on Monday to produce the final list of approved candidates and set the date for the primary elections.
