Schools in Matabeleland South Province have been equipped with computer and science laboratories as part of President Mnangagwa’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind, a development that has resulted in marginalised areas being uplifted.
Speaking at the commissioning of the computer laboratories, at twelve rural schools in the province, Information Communication, Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere said the 360 laptops will give learners the digital capability to research and develop the country.
Meanwhile Zimpapers Radio News also spoke to some beneficiaries from the Beitbridge and Gwanda communities who expressed gratitude.
Fifty-seven laboratories have been commissioned under the programme since the beginning of the year countrywide.
The commissioning of the computer laboratories is part of the National Development Strategy 1, which recognises that the creation of a digital economy is key in the realisation of national priorities and overall socio-economic development.
