6,5 million US dollar budget for Chivi Rural District Council approved

Local Government Minister July Moyo has approved this year's 6,5 million US dollar budget for Chivi Rural District Council, which will cater for the rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure as well as many other new capital projects.

Chivi RDC chief executive officer Tariro Matavire said the Local Authority has so far managed to refurbish storm-ravaged classrooms, while boreholes that are currently down will also be repaired.

Matavire added that this year's budget will also cater for the sinking of twenty new boreholes, purchasing of four solar-driven borehole pumps, upgrading and resurfacing of roads, construction of two schools, two clinics, purchasing of a new refuse compactor, a tipper and a grader, among other projects.
