POLICE investigate murder of 7-year-old Murewa boy

POLICE are investigating a suspected ritual murder case after the body of a 7-year-old boy from Murewa, Mashonaland East province was discovered being eaten by dogs, in the family yard.
Initial indications are that the head, arms and legs were cut off before being dumped.
The boy went missing last Thursday morning after his parents sent him to tend to a family garden.
In an interview, National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said when the boy’s parents failed to account for him, a search party was formed, and the team abandoned the search after midnight, and the body was discovered by a neighbour the following morning.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said investigations into the matter are underway.
