Schools to close on the 24th of March

President Mnangagwa

President Mnangagwa has announced that schools and tertiary institutions will close on Tuesday the 24th of March 2020, as a precaution against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement on Thursday, President Mnangagwa said the government’s decision is informed by concerns raised by parents and the education sector.

The president brought the closing dates closer as a precaution against the outbreak and spread of Covid 19 adding that next Tuesday will allow for an orderly closure of all institutions and for parents to arrange for the safe travel of pupils and students. Dates for re-opening will be advised once the threat of the virus is said to have receded.
