President Mnangagwa in Buhera West

President Mnangagwa arrives for the commissioning of Marovanyati Dam in Buhera West this morning.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Buhera, Manicaland province to commission the 33 million dollar Marovanyati Dam.

The dam is expected to usher in the socio-economic transformation to the Buhera community and beyond with 1 250 hectares already earmarked for irrigation. It also provides a reliable source of raw water for Murambinda growth point, Dorowa mine and other small mines in Buhera district.

Government funded the construction of the dam under a public sector investment programme that is also being used to spearhead similar national infrastructure projects countrywide.

The dam can harvest up to 25 billion litres of water per year and has a 50 billion litre carrying capacity.

President Mnangagwa is accompanied by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
