Government urged to increase cattle dipping services
Farmers in Masvingo province have called on government to increase cattle dipping services following the death of thousands of cattle due to January disease.
Beef Producers Association Masvingo Provincial Chairperson Mr. Robert Makado said while they applauded the government for providing farmers with tick grease, there was need to avail more cattle dipping chemicals. he added that farmers were on dipping cattle for an average 10 times instead of 42 sessions.
Meanwhile, Mr. Makado said some unscrupulous butchery operators in parts of Gutu, Zaka and Bikita are reportedly selling uninspected beef with fears the meat is from diseased animals.
