Zimbabwe joins the rest of the world in commemorating World Radio Day

Today Zimbabwe commemorates world radio day.

In an interview with Star FM News, Zimpapers Radio Broadcasting Division General Manager Mr Comfort Mbofana, paid tribute to stakeholders who have supported the group's radio stations.

Running under the theme "radio and sports" with emphasis on gender equality as well as promoting peace and development through sports coverage, Mr Mbofana said the Zimpapers radio broadcasting division, will continue to promote sports in all its diversity.

World Radio Day was first celebrated in 2012, following its declaration by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) general conference.

It was subsequently adopted as an international day by the united nations general assembly.
