Zanu PF secretary for administration, Cde Obert Mpofu has warned rogue party elements registered to contest in the forthcoming harmonised elections as independents, but are using the President’s picture and name in their campaign materials, saying they will face the full wrath of the law.
In a statement Cde Mpofu said some losing candidates in the Zanu PF primaries have registered as independents, but have incorporated the President’s picture and the #EDhasmyvote as part of their campaigns.
Cde Mpofu showed the campaign poster of former Zanu PF central committee member Cde Noah Mangondo who was disqualified from contesting the Murehwa South primary and went on to register as an independent.
Cde Mpofu added that they will report to the police anyone caught abusing the name of the party and the President.
