Some tobacco farmers demonstrated at Boka Tobacco auction floors on Wednesday morning , over late payments after delivering their crop, which has resulted in them spending long periods at the auction floors.
The farmers called on government to intervene, so that they can be able to get their payments on time .
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe earlier this year announced that it had increased the export incentive for tobacco farmers from 5 percent to 12.5 percent.
The Central Bank also said the farmers would get 300 dollars a day after they sell their tobacco, and receive the balance through their bank accounts or mobile money transfer.
