As the world commemorates English Language Day, Chimurenga music legend Thomas ‚ÄėMukanya‚ÄĚ Mapfumo has challenged Zimdancehall artistes to sing in languages that appeal to the international audience.
Addressing journalists at a media briefing in Harare recently, Dr Mapfumo said local dancehall artistes borrowed the culture from Jamaica, therefore should sing in the language that is spoken in Jamaica.
Meanwhile British-Zimbabwean aspiring musician Donel Mangena who was the Voice UK 2018 first runner up, thrilled at the Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall, after he was invited by Prince Harry during his time in the competition.
Donel shared the stage with some of the international stars including Shaggy and Craig David to sing "happy birthday" to the longest reigning monarch in British history.
