Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa says national drug stocks are expected to improve, as government starts acquiring drugs using funds realised from the health levy. Speaking during the tour of the National Pharmaceuticals Company (NATPHARM), Dr Parirenyatwa said, to date 18 million dollars has been collected from the fund. In his 2017 National Budget, Finance and Economic Planning Minister Cde Patrick Chinamasa introduced the health fund, a 5 percent deduction on all airtime and mobile data under the talk surf and save a life initiative. Before this levy 95 percent of drugs were being donor funded while government was contributing 5 percent.
