Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister Professor Amon Murwira has commissioned the National Bio-Technology Authority of Zimbabwe board which was approved by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Speaking during the commissioning of the board today in Harare, Professor Murwira said the biotechnology authority should carry out research aimed at ensuring sustainable food security in the country.
The national biotechnology authority board is established through an act of the constitution, and the general function of the authority will be to advise the Minister on all aspects concerning the development, production, use and release of products of biotechnology.
