Government's move to compensate white former commercial farmers for improvements on land has been welcomed by farmers unions.
In an interview with Star FM News commercial farmers union director Mr Ben Gilpin said this is a positive move which will help some of the former farmers who are now destitute after they lost their farms during the fast track land reform programme.
Zimbabwe National Farmers Union vice president Mr Garikai Musika said government should ensure that information is disseminated properly on what the farmers should do to be compensated.
The government has set aside 53 million RTGS dollars towards the compensation of white former commercial farmers and the funds were allocated in the 2019 national budget.
