Government urged to establish a land information management system

Government has been urged to establish a land information management system, with data related to land which will assist the state in formulating policies around land usage particularly in farms.

This was said by Land Development Commission Chairperson, Mrs Tendai Bare yesterday, while giving oral evidence before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Lands and Rural Resettlement.

She said at the moment there is no consolidated information regarding land usage, which is hindering government’s thrust in formulating viable policies as it seeks to enhance productivity.
