Government to boost national cattle herd by artificial insemination technology

Government is set to boost the national cattle herd by employing artificial insemination technology which will see four thousand semen straws being produced within an hour.
Artificial insemination increases productivity in cattle and government intends to boost the national herd through using scientifically proven technology.
Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister, Professor Amon Murwira said President Emmerson Mnangagwa will launch the project, which complements the command livestock programme soon.
Professor Murwira said the biotechnology programme will be done at the Chinhoyi University of Technology.
