Government seeks financial assistance to purchase drugs for cholera, typhoid

Government is seeking further financial assistance to purchase more drugs to treat cholera and typhoid that have hit Harare and other parts of the country.
Speaking during a news briefing in Harare, Health and Child Care minister Dr Obadiah Moyo said despite having some cases that are now resistant to the usual antibiotics and expensive to treat, government has the situation under control.
Dr Moyo also said the country has to go back to basics and educate the public on basic hygiene to deal with cholera outbreaks in the country.
He was addressing the media after an inter-ministerial meeting in Harare.
