Discount on water bills increases Harare City's revenue collection

City of Harare's acting finance director Mr Stanley Ndemera, says the 50 percent discount on water bills to residents has increased the city's revenue collection by fifty percent.
In an interview with Star FM News after meeting residents' representatives in Harare on Tuesday, Mr Ndemera called on residents to take advantage of the program to clear their arrears.
Meanwhile Community Water Alliance' Representative Ms Almer Chiwenga, urged the City council to engage government institutions who are not paying their bills.
The City of Harare embarked on a 50 percent discount on water bills in July and the campaign ends in October.
