Cotton growers will this season be paid 50 percent of their earnings in foreign currency and the remainder in RTGs dollars as government continues to promote the production of export crops.
Meanwhile, tobacco sales have declined since the beginning of the marketing season with over 3,3 million kilogrammes valued at about 5,9 million US dollars sold compared to 14,5 million kilogrammes worth 40 million US dollars sold during the same period last year.
Last week the highest price was US$4,50 cents per kg with the lowest price being 20 cents per kilogram at the auction floors.
