Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube says government has so far spent about 61,8 million Zimbabwe dollars, towards post Cyclone Idai emergency recovery in affected areas.
Minister Ncube was speaking during the signing ceremony of a tripartite funding and implementation agreement, with the African Development Bank (AFDB) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (U.N.O.P.S) in Harare recently.
The 24,3 million US Dollar grant by the A-F-D-B, is an addition to the US$250 000 dollars, which it disbursed immediately after the cyclone struck.
The grant is meant to support government in rehabilitating damaged infrastructure and rebuilding lost livelihoods for the most affected districts of Chimanimani and Chipinge in Manicaland province.
UNOPS will implement the programme in partnership with the government over a three-year period.
