1.3 million out of the 14 million people in the country have a health insurance policy

Insurance expert Mr Nigel Mugwendere says only 1.3 million out of the 14 million people in the country have a health insurance policy. 

Speaking to journalists during an insurance reporting mentoring programme co-ordinated by Zimselector.com and the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) Mr Mugwendere said one of the reasons for the low uptake of insurance is that most people are not formally employed and have low income.
Mr Mugwendere urged people to take health insurance saying lack of insurance makes life difficult for them and their families when they get sick.
